Title: TOGA and throttle use
Post by BrzI on Jul 9th, 2013 at 5:08pm
Simple question:

How do you engage TOGA on takeoff ?
How do I use my throttle controller on takeoff ?

I am seeing TO mode permanently on mid upper MFD....No CLB...

Using SP 1.1

Thanks

The toga switches are on the back of the throttles I do not get what your second Q is

Only way I can get to those switches is to move my VC viewpoint waaay forward - darn awkward - there should be an easier way.

Second question is : at which point in my throttle travel do I hit TOGA ?

Every developer seems to have a preference....

Can somebody explain how to takeoff with de-rated thrust 55C and have VNAV automatically engage CLB thrust.

I get a constant TOGA thrust and my speeds go through the roof. Yes, manually setting speed and using VS works fine. But I want to use TOGA, LNAV and VNAV. Still do not see how.

Yes, I tried 1.2. No real change in TOGA/CLB thrust autotransition.

People, did you completely unistall all of the 777 components from your hard drive and FSX folder, did you reboot after install? If you did all of the above things then do it again, but before you reinstall this time clean your registry with a cleaner then reboot.  I learned that a lot of the problems I was having with my add ons was my FSX, I did a complete reinstall of FSX and started with fresh XML and CFG,and Jesus tweaks CFG,and it has improved a 100 fold! I suggest a 6 month reinstall of FSX and that can sometimes help with issues ,especially if you have added or removed add ons in the last 6 months. Just some advice 8-)

My goodness..  :D
I suggest that you learn to operate the aircraft properly before throwing a public temper tantrum.
We see a lot of this infantile behavior lately here and in other forums.
Total lack of manners. Says a lot about your upbringing.
Must be the new generation of brat children that are infesting the FS forums.
Some people take the time to learn and study how to handle big jets and some people can't.

I agree with this. :)

I uninstalled the old version> deleted the registry entries > cleaned out any folders after backing up stuff if I want to keep (like texture.XXX folders) > REBOOTED my computer > Reinstall v1.2 > REBOOTED my computer. Everything should be working properly after doing that. It certainly seems to be working fine for me from the couple of flights I've done.

Clearing the entries from the registry is not essential, but worth considering (I always remove it).
Because I'm using my Manual Offline Activation key_xxxx.txt file to reactivate it, the amount of FULL reinstalls I do is not affecting my Profile Activations (it's only seen as a single activation when given the key_xxxx.txt file), which can lead to a locked product from too many activations.

I think I've done this but it was ages ago and I can't remember how to. Can somebody tell me the steps to clean my registry to reinstall the triple 7 please? I don't want to mess it up ;D Thanks  :(

Guys, no one appears to have answered this question. Comments about methods of uninstall, regedit etc are pointless when you have done it correctly a number of times and deviate from the question asked.  I'm interested in BrzI's question as well. There seems little info on how to use the FMC to derate TO performance, particularly to select and arm the options; the use of TOGA and the transition to climb.
Thanks
Ian

Hi guys!

Here is a picture by 777 VC. When I takeoff with Captain Sim 777, LNAV, VNAV, A/T, AP no working together.
Those buttons are working together in real 777, but no working in Captain Sim 777! Look this picture!

Other problem:  I can't takeoff normally, because my aircraft is slow down before end of runway if I push A/T. Why?

The same. Both must work, not only one. The lower button in CS works like a Speed button, thatīs wrong.

Bump.  Can someone please answer these questions about TOGA/FMC/throttle selections.  :)

@Ian, Answer: Try to fly PSS 777 (Fs2004). No such things working in CaptainSim 777.

No matter you enter a flex-temperature or you choose a Thrust TO/TO-1/TO-2, Climb or other setting. Nothing will change in the CS777.
----------------------------
Must edit this: With PW-Engines no changes can be seen, but with GE-Engines I found out, changes are can be seen on FMC and EICAS.
So it depends on the choosen airplane?!
----------------------------

Try this: Change the settings in FMC for Temperature, choose on the N1-Page different Thrusts like Crz. Climb, TakeOff and so on. You will see, the value in the top line of the FMC will not change, also the values on EICAS will not change. The CS777 AT-System is absolute wrong and not working. Philosophical question, can something be wrong if it is not working?

Solution: Use the Thrust-Levers, do not use the AP until the another company 777 will be released ;D. (Some names are changed to "other", for example Precision Manuals Development Group)

@A, if you choose the AT-Button it is working as the Speed-Button and the airplane slows down. In real this Button is no speed button, so this is wrong implemented. Maybe the programmers never saw a real B777 Cockpit before and didnīt know it.

To find a way to fly a climb with autopilot ON I tried this and it works fine:
ZFW 170000 kg, Fuel 80000 kg.
Take Off I set the N1 (GE) with the Throttles to the calculated value from the FMC.
Below 5000 ft I try to fly 220 Knots only. So with AP ON I set V/S 4000 to 5000 ft and the Speed in the Speedwindow to 220 knots.
At 1500 ft AGL I change to V/S 2500 ft/min.
At 10000 ft changing Speed to 315 Knots and V/S 500-1000 ft/min, before reaching 315 knots changing V/S to 2500 V/S
Below 17000 ft I choose V/S 2500 ft/min
From 17000 ft up to 30000 ft I use V/S 2200, later 2000 ft/min.

With CS777-200 GE LR, not tested with other airplanes. The combination between V/S and Speed prevents to overstress the engines.
