Can you select 'VSpeed Input' from the FSX menu; 'View', 'Instrument Panel'?

Make sure you have the following under the [VCockpit01] section:
gaugeXX=/V-One!V-One, 0, 0, 0, 0

(XX = the next logical sequence number)
