Title: 707 planning Post by planbsk8ter44 on Nov 23rd, 2012 at 5:27am
I'm trying to use the VOR to VOR navigation by the NAV radios, what type of program is everyone using.
And does anyone know of good tutorials on VOR to VOR navigation? |

For route planning with the 707 (if I want to do VOR to VOR), I usually go to vataware.com, search my route under "Top Routes" and find a route with a lot of VOR's in it. If I can't find one like that, I adapt the route to include more VOR's. (And I use the Aivlasoft EFB program for route planning, by the way.) However, I usually use Doppler navigation (very easy to use--good for a beginner) or the INS (very complex, but fun and accurate). As for VOR tutorials, I first learned VOR Navigation through the default lesson in FSX (one of the pilot lessons with the real-world pilot). Just be sure to read the entire text of the lesson before flying it, though. |

I do all my flying in 707 and 727 using VOR, and DOPPLER overseas! Dont have INS.
I use fsx default flight planner, it works pretty well. but in some cases, i edit flight plan by hand. About VOR operation you can check FSX learning center or wikipedia. i'll drop some tips later that day ;) |
