So I was thinking, and here is a very crazy idea for a sale that I think would be pretty awesome from Captainsim (I'm not expecting, nor do I even think it will happen, just wanted to share my crazy thoughts)

So one day this year (and maybe other years) have one crazy sale for 10 minutes only, where all expansion packs are free, BUT heres the catch, Captainsim DOES NOT advertise this sale in anyway, but through the newsletter, so they dont tell anyone, unless they are on the newsletter, and to prevent other people from telling others, the email about the sale should go out between 10 minutes and an hour before the sale, then once the time starts, every expansion pack is free, for 10 minutes. And each forum name can only checkout 2 items.

To be able to checkout these free items, however, you must have a forum account, and it must be atleast a day old (so people dont just make it for the sale) then once they pick their two items, and click checkout, it will ask for a forum name, there will be 2 options, 1) I dont have one, continue checkout, and 2) type forum name:___ then continue, and you can checkout the two free items.

Pretty crazy huh? What are your thoughts?

I don't think CS is going to add more sales here and there, though. The Christmas sale is a big sale, almost everything gets discounted.

I don't see sales like that working to well. Different timezones would make it hard, without giving too much advanced notice. It would also put the server under too much pressure, which can happen with a 24 hour Christmas Sale", not to mention what a short 10 minute sale might do. :(

I think that the 777 Base Pack would be left off this years Christmas Sale (IF they have one), because the sale would be too soon after it's release. Same thing happened with the 707-300 (released in August 2010) when they had the Christmas sale at the end of 2010.
