I'm attempting to install FSX on my new laptop, and this is my second try, it froze at this file "\Scenery\World\Texture\069a2wid.bmp"

I'm getting desperate at this point, getting ready to take it back to the store. Any idea?  :-/

It might vary well be the DVD, and not the the laptop. Im sure you checked the DVD for scratches and scuffs?

I wouldn't think a brand new laptop would have drive problems, they had to install the OS and do other modifications at the factory.

There are some scratches on it, but not too many, nor are they major. Is there anyway to get them off?

EDIT: I wiped off the disk, IT'S WORKING!  ;D ;D ;D

RE EDIT: It stopped again, then I cleaned it again, and it worked, this went on for a while. I believe my disk is corrupted because I was getting messages saying that some files don't exist. So i'm just going to pick up a new copy, I have the deluxe edition now, so I'll get the Gold Edition.

I think that FSX Gold is the only way you can buy FSX (it comes with the Deluxe Edition) and Acceleration.

I agree with you, Mark. Gold is the only way to go, it should be a nice addition along with the new computer.

Yeah and no service packs required! Im glad you didn't have to take the laptop back!

Oh yeah, That's right! That helps  ;D I just opened it for the first time about a minute ago!   :D I still have A lot of addons to put on, but its no big deal :)

I know what reinstalling addons, reseting sound files, changing aircraft.cfg files, extra, is like... a real day project! ;)
