Title: 2d Captains Cockpit View Post by wemp on May 31st, 2012 at 6:51pm
Hi
Is there a 2D Captains forward cockpit view? All I get is an outside forward view. I find the 3D view difficult and unclear to read dials etc. Thanks Bob |

Hi Bob.
The CS 737 doesn't have a main 2D cockpit panel. The only 2D panels it has are: Simicons Animations Autopilot Radio Stack GPS Mark |

Hi Mark
Thanks for your reply. Then the 3D view is very very poor for the money, the dials are unreadable. Not in the same league as PeEMDEEGEE NGX. Had to write it like this as it would appear you are not permitted to mention other companies in this forum Thanks Bob |

I would have to disagree with you. I can read all and gauges and dials. Sad that a lot of people now compare every FSX aircraft to the NGX. (PeEMDEEGEE spent 4 years making that plane. Great work) Not every company will invest that time and has the money. But I digress, my money is on Captain sim and product is awesome. |

Bob is right that there are a few gauges that are impossible to read without TIR or ezdok which allow you to MOVE to where you can read them. But the VC view and scale looks exactly how it does in the real thing. The CS flightdeck is supremely realistic visually, and the downside of that is you can't simply pan your view from a stationary position and read every little digital dial (like the cabin pressure settings). In reality the pilot would lean over to read these, or more than likey the FO would set them.
I will admit that without EZDok I would find this very frustrating, and some of these gauges (I noted them in the wish list forum) could be made easier to read. But I can't agree that the 3D view is "very very poor for the money". This VC is just like sitting in the real cockpit. |

Hi Bob.
Like Marvic, I disagree with you on the readability of the gauges. I have no trouble reading the gauges in the VC at all. Other than the digits seen on the Flight Altitude Indicator (on the CABIN PRESSURIZATION PANEL) and the ALTITUDE ALERT Controller (which are easier to read when I turn the Panel Lights ON). Mark |

Hi Gentlemen
My apologies to all, the views are indeed very good. I had installed a new Nvidia driver and this had disrupted my settings at a time when I had just installed CS 737, which I am now delighted with. Yes, some reading is still a little difficult, particularly the Altitude Alert selector which is really small. Thanks for your comments guys and once again -- sorry. Best regards Bob |

No worries. We are also passionate about flying and sometimes get a little anxious when all does not go as planned either. Fly for fun, fly for life............ |
