4-7 fps renders you a tough guy. :) In that case it might indeed be a large step forward. You just shouldn't combine too many addons or run AA in the clouds. I've started with FSX in a Core Duo back then, but I didn't have addons so it was ok, though not that nice or amazingly fast.
If possible, I'd still head for at least some more CPU power on your new purchase. |
