Not Really. I'm pretty sure they use a stencil. I saw how they painted the KLM.

For all you FS repainters out there, how long does it take to paint 2000 indvidual faces??? lol ;D

Depending on how they look scaled down on the paint kit, you could get aways with murder in the detail.
It's a doable repaint. A lot of masking invloved. Lot of time too. |

That my friends, is a great invention called: The Decal. They put the decals on, and put a couple coats of clear over that. Thats how they get the Frontier animals on the tail. For FSX, I'm sure its tricky ;)

In FSX there is no need to paint each face, all you need are pics, resize them and and create 1 layer and paste it on the fuselage. It will take a lot of time but not impossible.
