Good question. There are various cases when it comes to the presence and need of that file. Lets see where GSX in general gets aircraft data from. 1) aircraft is natively supported by GSX. No gsx.cfg file present. 2) aircraft already has an intelliscene.cfg (that's the one from the another company AES addon). No gsx.cfg file present. 3) aircraft isn't supported natively and there also is no other config file. No gsx.cfg file present and GSX reads the aircraft's data from the aircraft.cfg. 4) user made gsx.cfg present in e.g. the SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200 folder. That's a simple text file you can create and copy Mark's setting into it. Just check that it really reads 'gsx.cfg', not gsx.cfx.txt or something. For the gsx.cfg itself, you can have two places to look for. The first and best one may be that SimObjects\Airplanes\aircraft name folder. Place it there and GSX will read it. However, as soon as you edit any 'template' (numbers 1-4 above), GSX will save all future edits at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\Airplanes. So the most current one if something was edited by the user will always be at AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\Airplanes. I think one should just edit the plane until it fits and then grab that current gsx.cfg file and save it. From the priority, the one at AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\Airplanes (if present!) will always win over the other one. |
