Hi Folks,

Can anyone assist or advise as to why I have'nt any strobes or beacons on the latest FSX 757 update?

They worked fine before and all strobes and beacons work fine on my other CS products. So I'm a little baffled.  :-[

Apologies in advance if this has been asked. I have had a look and could'nt seem to see the subject anywhere.

Reinstall it using the repair option to see if that fixes it. If you are using Vista/Win 7, then make sure you install it using the Run as administrator option.

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried that and nothing happened unfortunatley.

So far I have tried the following:

-Reinstall using the repair.
-Uninstall version 4600 then reinstall 4600.
-Uninstall version 4600 then reinstall 4400.

Even 4400 has no strobes or beacons now. :'(

I'm really lost with this now as I just checked the 767 and that doesn't have beacons. Strobes are there but no flashing red lights.

I have rolled back to the previous 767 version as well and thats exactly the same. Strobes but no beacons.

So in a nutshell

757 - 4400/4600 versions have no beacons or strobes.
767 - 1400/1500 versions have strobes but no beacons.

Please help!  :-[ :-[

I had this problem with a couple of my Captain Sim aircraft last year (the 707 and C-130). The only way I got them working was to reinstall FSX. I was hoping that a repair might get them working. It doesn't, so uninstalling then reinstalling FSX is the only way I know of that will fix this problem.

Check out if you have both fx_becon and fx_strobe effects in your FSX effects folder.
