Title: Model issue
Post by benbaum on Jan 12th, 2012 at 12:50am
Hi all,

I recently got the 757 base pack and enjoy it. The only problem is that the aircraft will always takeoff at around 110 KIAS no matter the weight! How can we fix this?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben.

Are you setting the Trim before takeoff? If you leave it at its default setting of 4, the nose will want to start rising before it should.
How many degrees of Flaps are you using? I usually use 15o.

Reduce the trim to 2.5 or so.   Use the green bar for trim setting.

What is the V1, Vr and V2 settings Takeoff Ref page (in the CDU) say? What does the CG Trim (CDU Takeoff Ref page) say the setting should be?

In version 4.6, I set the CG % to 30 and at a Gross Weight of 200,600 pounds, mine are V1 = 133, VR = 136, V2 = 140 and CG = 4.05
With those settings, my 757-200 nose starts to rise just prior to VR.
I don't know why, but I find that the setting the CG to 30%, gives me great results all round for flying the CS757 (same goes for the CS767).

Is it true that if the plane is trimmed correctly after rotation it will stay at the correct pitch with little or no human interaction? I will have to try CG of 30% as see what happens.

757 For me a CG of 34 is perfect I enter that in the FMC and then dial in the result on the trim levers .

767 Can't make any sense of it so I enter 34  in the FMC ignore the result and use about 2.7 to 3.4 dialed in on the trim levers.

All TO's ok All Cruise ok.
