I have to say...I was reluctant at first to get the McPhat 757 UHDT set because I was still running FSX on an older PC and it would get too choppy with the Free McPhat HD textures...so I was trying to do it myself because the liveries I wanted didn't exist in the normal resolution...it has been a learning experience for sure and a lot of fun. I want to continue and I know I have a long way to go because I would like to learn how McPhat does it...OMGoogness!

I am getting a new PC (it's being delivered) and I went ahead and got the World Airliners vol3, I wanted the blue United texture along with Eastern, the 757 launch customer, so I feel it was worth it with the way these textures look and you get the BAW and USAir etc...all totally amazing!

Doing textures in the old resolution seems like a waste of time to me now...I'm going to start over but it may take me a while with the new PC to slow down enough to actually make a HD template and do textures.

Here's what I got, which will later become my media PC (I'm planning on building an overclocked PC later)

Dell XPS 8300 i7 2600 3.4ghz
windows 7
1.5tb HDD   (going to add a SSD boot drive with room for FSX only)
12gb RAM
added my own pick of video card, dell does not offer...
Nvidia GTX 550 Ti 2048

What do you guy's think? this should rock fsx fairly well...?

and does anyone have the McPhat World Airliners paints? Totally awesome, I'll be getting one or two more of them.

FSX should be heaps better on the new one than what you are used to.

Great !!! good for ya Pilot !!  Now word from the wise - just be darn careful what you download and from where with that new computer and graphics card !! theres still too many badd designers out here who's junk will destroy your sim and you'll spend hours fixing it, so just don't go bonkers trying out all kinds of aircraft to see how great they look !  I'm still seeing some that think if they just take a FS 2004 bitmap  Texture files and just turn them into "DDS files" that qualifys it to be FSX Ready - wrong !!!  so Enjoy your Amped up Computer , just be carefull ~ !!!!  the Jetranger 8-) :o

Well...I got it going and have loaded the 757 and mcphat paints and it is incredible, the difference between the two machines is amazing. The 757 has a whole new feel, crisp, sharp, super responsive.

I absolutely love it, and thanks you guys, good advise too, I don't think I will be experimenting on the new one and I can still do that on the old machine.
