Just FYI The real 707 has a sextant port and back in the days before INS airlines carry a proper navigator. Polar flights also use the Astro Compass. (Which is still used today in the Canadian Arctic with the 737-200s)

Other methods include Loran/Omega and even DF Steers from weather ships parked mid-ocean.
