i was wondering if anyone knows of a place where i can get highlly realistic BOAC repaints in the three mahjor liveries for the 707 captain (FSX) of if anyone is willing to do the reapaints (minus a fee  ;D)?
it would be very helpful, the only one i have is not so good, the blue is black, come on, really??

I think you will find there is a classic BOAC livery available in the expansion pack for a freighter and there is another classic BOAC repaint available for the standard 300 ADV model around on the net, not sure if it is listed in the free liveries section. Both liveries are for the period about 1973-4 period, blue black with the gold speedbird. These are the only ones I know off that are available none in the white tail blue stripe style, unless there is a 2004 model available which could be converted for the FSX.

the only problem with the cargo expansion model is that the word "Cargo" is right next to the BOAC, it kind of spoils it, it would be helpful if someone were to remove the Cargo from the title

Hmmm got your point the passenger repaint was not uploaded here to Capt Sim liveries for some reason the original repainter decided he would not for why I have no idea and he has also stopped doing repaints of any sort.

Speaking of Re-Paints - is there a Re-Paint Texture file available for the 707 from the movie "Airport" (1970's) , tga  livery ?? Trans Global Airlines.  I know there is one available on the HJG site, but it won't work with Captain Sim's 707, at all .  I wouldn't mind swapping textures with one of my 707's from Capt. Firstly I know you didn't do it, but perhaps he pulled it because it's not accurate.

Colours need some editing, Speedbird and BOAC logo and similar coloured parts are too orange, should be more golden and the blue looks like black.

No this not my work at all, I am only just learning to do repaints and this quality of work is just a little beyond me at the moment.

If you can make the adjustments how about posting the before and after results and letting us know what colour changes or font changes you made.

Darren for what its worth I had the good fortune to spend a day in the BOAC 707 cockpit and playing around the aeroplane in Hong Kong as a young guy. I remember that the funniest thing was the cockpit interior seat and colours which were not the standard blue/grey we see on the models but a chocolate brown colour, always stood out in my memory. Try doing that for the VC (just kidding) don't know if there are any photos that show this.

The BMP files will work fine with the 707 Captain for FSX. So it should be fine.

Just remember to copy the texture.cfg from one of the other texture.xx folders, e.g. CS_B707-300\texture.aa folder, into the texture.tga folder or a lot of the 707 will be black!  ;)

All I've done is load the textures into Photoshop and changed the black and orange into dark blue and gold.

I can't upload it as it's not my original work, I've only changed the colours to a more original BOAC as I posted in the photos of the real thing on page 1, anyone can do it.

Can you do that sort of colour change select and change using the GIMP anybody know?

I have the CS 707 for FSX and would like to get hold of the Trans Global livery for the Legendary 707 if it works on the FSX version.   I cannot access the livery at the CS site as I do not own the Legendary 707.  Is there a good link to a site that has the Trans Global livery for the Legendary 707?

issue with font and tires, and some pilot stuff, but lessee if I can tweak some things.....

is there a conflict between the tires for the FSX model and the FS9 model?  Which bmp should I pull?   The stewardess is black, but I can live with that, I just want the tires to be black, too.....

BOAC only operated the Cargo version of the 707-300 AFAIK, making the one CS provided the only "accurate" one. Weren't the rest of BOAC's 707s shorter, Conway-powered versions ?

They did use a passenger version with the PW engines. They were just converted later on. However, BOAC did use the -436 variant.

Here is another request for a decent BOAC colour scheme on the 707.

I have only just realised that there is a BOAC Cargo version of the 707 available from Captain Sim. Since the upgrade is only 10 Euros, I think I may just treat myself to an early Christmas present :)

Is there anyone who knows if BOAC pax is available for the FS9 version? I've tried posting in that forum but no answers.

FTWD an others - it would appear that the BOAC repaint for CS707 I found some time ago, may have been borrowed or an alteration of another repaint by a well know painter. I discovered this when doing a reinstall of paint jobs after a complete FSX reinstall recently. The original painter has cleverly made some changes to the mdl file which show up not on the exterior but in the interior. So this probably explains the mystery of the disappearance of the paint job from various sites - it was pulled.

The issue of the 707 being Conway and not PW powered is critical to a paint job for this bird and previous posts about the BOAC Cargo variant being the only 300 model are correct.  

What we need is some new and additional expansion add ons from CS to give us the 707-138 (ala early Qantas version) and the 720 and the Conway version, now those all would be cool.

PS I have removed the BOAC passenger paint job from my library I am not into pirated stuff or plagiarism.

If you are referring to the 707 BOAC repaint from the unofficial form hosted on AvSim then as the original author of that repaint I can assure you that it was not in any way copied, borrowed or stolen from any other repainters work, as a repainter myself I would never use another’s work and call it my own.

Hodge,  I cannot locate any BOAC repaint for the CS 707 in the AVSIM library (I just checked).

However let me say that I said "maybe" not "was" a pirated copy or plagiarised ! I can only say that when I used to bring up the model, before I deleted the livery from my library, the cockpit registration always read ËAD which is VH-EAD and was the Nat Qantas repaint registration. This never ocurred with any other repaint. So naturally I was suspicious.

However, if as you said it was all yours, then I am happy to accept that and apologise for any offense, which was not intended.

The repaint from the unofficial forum was never uploaded to AvSim it was only ever put on FileFront, now Gamefront, I fact when Darrent was trying to adjust the colours of her I sent a download link for the master PSD file set to him via CoolP as I was having an issue signing in at that time, so I think that we are both talking about different repaint here and I just wanted to clear the air as it were on the status of the one I made, so absolutely no offence has been taken as far as I am concerned, I was just setting the record straight.

I think your right there about the other repaint, as I said when I went looking for it I could not locate it and the only link to a BOAC repaint is the one I posted at the very beginning.

I removed the repaint I had because it never had any note file to indicate who the author was and I have not downloaded the one by yourself. Iam very wary of any stuff like this having picked up a virus from a piece of so called freeware (from a reputable site I might add) that crashed my hard driver and did a lot of damage to my system. As I said the repaint I originally had kept coming up with VH-EAD on the cockpit placard which was strange and led me to the view it was pirated or copied from somebody else's work. I well understand how much work goes into doing a repaint for a model in flight sim,  I know I have tried unsuccessfully to master the art. This is  another reason why I don't use the many well known file sharing sites that allow this sort of stuff to go on and have always been prepared to even pay a reasonable fee for a repaint job and not expect them for free.

Anyhow I look forward to a revised version of your BOAC repaint at some time in the future, always thought it was a very striking and dignified livery which somehow really made the 707 look quite sharp.
