Title: System crashes when I select any C-130 Post by Dave Pep on Aug 25th, 2011 at 1:00am
Hey fellas,
I know I know this is not for tech support but tech support is pointing me in directions that offer no solutions for a product I paid for. I have looked at KB 182,674 and 1585 with no luck. My problem. I select any C-130 and when I select go fly it crashes at 82% loaded some times. Sometimes I dont even make it there. The only issue I think I may have cause I dont clearly understand it is the ACE path .flt. What .flt file am I suppose to select. Thanks for any help. PLEASE. Best. Dave |

Hi Dave,
I've had the same problem. I use FSX but I think you could try to go to: Local disc C > Program Files (x86) > Microsoft Games > Microsoft Flight simulator X > Captain Sim > 130 > flights Choose a CS default flight and double click on it (I suggest the Cold & Dark one, because is more realistic): [Legendary C-130 (Pope AFB Landing).FLT] [Legendary C-130 Pope AFB (Cold&Dark).FLT] [Legendary C-130 Pope AFB (Hot Cockpit).FLT] Windows will ask you to choose a program to open the file and will suggest Microsoft flight Simulator. Then, accept it (double click). Once this is done, save the flight, e.g., "Tour C-130". Then go to FS upper bar > [World] > [Time and season...] > [Go to Airport...] > [Weather...] Save the flight ( "Tour C-130"). Tell us if it works. Hope this help, Pinatubo. |

Pinatubo,
Thanks for your detailed explination. However no joy. When I open the .flt with FSX the system crashes. I too am using FSX on a VISTA OS. Still looking for help. THanks Dave |

So, I suggest you to uninstall the add-on, clean all register data [start > regedit.exe (run as administrator) > CaptainSim > C130XPRO], restart PC and reinstall it.
If the problem persists, maybe your installer is corrupt. Download it again and try installing from the new installer: Check-in to Your Profile > Select product > Extended Download Service > Get New Links Pinatubo. |

OK,
Still no luck. Followed directions to the letter. Selected the AC-130 and once I selected the airport to take off from and selected OK the game crashed. Perhaps I need to deal with ACE. Here are the present tool path settings. Path to FSX C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X Path to FSX flight files. ( not sure what this is) C:\Users\Dave\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files thanks dave |

You do not have FSX SP2 installed, this is one of minimum system requirements.

Hi Dave, FS Service Pack (SP) 1 and 2 are patches to address some issues, as activation and installation, third-party add-on issues, performance enhancements and content issues. You must download the service packs to the existing Flight Simulator X installation. Be sure to install SP1 before SP2.
