Title: Missing Winglets Model Post by Murdoch91 on Aug 19th, 2011 at 7:58pm
Hey!
I just tried to install a livery for the 757-200 and isntalled it with ACE, the Winglets Box was checked. I couldn't find the aircraft in my FSX, so I checked the aircraft.cfg and the CS757-200 folder. The reason why the livery with winglets is not shown is because the models are missing. My 'model' folder looks like this: No winglet-models there? I already reinstalled it and still no winglet-models. :( What's wrong? Thanks already... |

Hi, Murdoch91. Did you make sure that you ran the '757 ACE' as an Admin?

I think that the winglets use something like an xml code in the model (.MDL) that reads the line ui_wglts=0 or 1. If it sees 1, the winglets are visible and if it sees 0, they are hidden.
I have a few add-on aircraft by other developers that use a line in the aircraft.cfg to determine if something is seen or not. Here is an example: // Repainters note: // Embedded in the aircraft models is code that reads the fltsim.x title and applies visual // changes to the model based on what text is in the title. [fltsim.0] title=Tecnam Sierra Paint3 bluegrey Covers Fairing Nnumber If I remove any of those three words, or all of them, they are no longer visible on the model. The idea is the same for the winglets on the CS 757. Mark |

Sorry, that doesn't work.

After checking 'Winglets' on and saving the ACE, the aircraft dissappears from the FSX aircraft menu. The aircraft.cfg-entry looks like this: [fltsim.36] title=Captain Sim 757-200 FSX Paint1 sim=cs757-200RR model=RRW panel= sound=RR texture=airastana1 kb_checklists= kb_reference= atc_id=P4-EAS atc_airline=ASTANALINE atc_flight_number=757 atc_heavy=0 atc_parking_types= ui_manufacturer=Boeing ui_type=757-200 RR ui_variation=Air Astana ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner" ui_createdby="Captain Sim" visual_damage=1 ui_wglts=1 description="'757-200 Captain' Pro Pack v.4.2\n(c) 2008 Captain Sim \nwww.captainsim.com\Repaint by Dmitriy Matyash aka matyashd" Shouldn't there be a model.rrw folder in my 757 folder? I don't get it... UPDATE: Alright, somehow it's working now :) |

The models are RR and PW. In 4.4 there is no model RRW, changing RRW to RR will (or maybe already did) fix the problem. Winglets appear to be triggered by the ui_wglts= kisting in the aircraft.cfg.
