My favourite Boeing is the 777 and I'm very exited about the (complete) CS rendition there.
Another favourite may be the 787. Ugliest thing on the picture? Upper left, that "Dreamlifter". Even the Guppy had more beauty in my eyes. |

If the 777 turns on the engines, she will suck in all of them. ;D Look at those huge intakes.
Impressive size of the plane itself though when compared to the "big" 747. I never realized that she is that close to the Jumbo. Quote:
I've cheated of course, knowing that it had to be a Boeing. But the rather small diameter of the fuselage on that 4 engine thingy with the also small "cigars" on the wings only lead to the 707. The picture nicely shows that the diameter was/is also used on the 737 for example. |

Agreed. :P Impressive size of the plane itself though when compared to the "big" 747. I never realized that she is that close to the Jumbo. As I'm sure you know, it's the biggest twinjet, but still, that is an impressive size. |

I never realized how huge the 777 was until I got the 777-200 Exterior from Captain Sim. I did not realize that it had such a huge range either. It has become my favorite Boeing and has superseded the 767-200. I'm really looking forward to the 777-200 Base Pack. ;D Mark |

Ironic as well since Boeing had an SST rival in development in an effort to beat Concorde with more seats and higher speeds. Never happened though, not enough money I think and constantly changing specs, started off as a swing wing design. The Boeing 2707 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_SST |

You know, the Boeing 2707 was a big problem for the 747 program because it was stealing all the funding. Boeing was siphoning its resources off into the SST and leaving the 747 with little because they thought the SST would be their next huge money-maker and the 747 was just a little side project. They couldn't have been more wrong. ;D

All the planes on the runway won the market competition, the ones parked lost it and the ones missing may (still) give headaches to some of the Boeing guys when looking at the market numbers.
But the museum is a place to go indeed. If they had a museum for "fights in the business and the politics involved", you would fill up the same room I think, just with paper. I'm hoping for some new pics on the 787 from Le Bourget, Paris soon. http://www.paris-air-show.com/en Must be the plane with the biggest screen setup in the cockpit. |
