Title: Voice control for CS757 Demo now available Post by FS++ on Jun 9th, 2011 at 5:19pm
Hello everyone.
First a word to the mods… I have sought and obtained Captain Sim’s (Tanya K.) permission to post this thread. I am pleased to inform Captain Sim 767 & 757 captains that it is now possible to operate these beautiful birds in a multi-crew environment using voice control. You know it can be tough to operate the heavies on your own. For example setting speed, heading and altitude on MCP panel can be a challenge when your hands are tied to the controls. Enters Multi Crew Experience (MCE) an add-on that lets you do just that and many other things. Nothing is scripted. Need something to be done while your hands are full, simply speak it. Since a fully working time limited Demo is available for download, all you would need is a headset with microphone to experience the thrill of voice control. Demo available here: http://www.multicrewxp.com/ Should you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the support team. Regards, Ian G. R On behalf of the FS++ team |

Sounds pretty cool! So, you could say for example "set speed to 250" and the software will set it for you?

Thanks for the HU. Would be nice to have voice control in CS planes. Maybe I'll go for the demo.
Are you planning on the 707 too? This is my favourite so far and also a 3 man cockpit, so some realistic help there would be appreciated. |

Yep "set speed two five zero" "set speed two fifty" "two fifty on the speed" "speed bug 250" "make speed 250" "adjust speed 250" etc... etc... And that's only for the speed. Great flexibility in verbiage so that you don't have to keep looking at the manual "set speed to 250" (with the to in the middle) is a bit tricky, because it could be interpreted as "set speed two two fifty" for this reason it is not supported by default. But if you want it, we can modify the grammar file to allow it. Cheers. Ian |

Since the Demo runs without restriction for 3 days or 30 runs (whichever happens first) you are welcome to have a go with the CS707. Incidentally MCE also works with CS C130X In general aircraft that comply with FS SDK will work out of the box. Others like CS767 & CS757 need a custom software solution. Would appreciate some feedback regarding CS707 as I don't own it. If the bird happens to be one of those that require custom code to get it under voice control, provided there is strong demand, we will give it due consideration. Thanks Ian |

Once Captain Sim take the need for FSUIPC out of the 757 in the next patch (followed by the 767), will you need to change how MCE works with them? Aside from that. Thanks for letting us know about the Multi Crew Experience (MCE), I shall take a look at that demo. :) Mark |

Thanks for the heads up regarding service pack. Will adjust things if necessary.
Having said that, MCE doesn’t use FSUIPC. We have developed our own module called fsInsider.dll that runs inside the FSX or FS9 process, providing MCE with all the information it needs. As far as I am aware, FSUIPC does not provide third party applications with the means to interface with CS767 & CS757 (offsets or other), otherwise simpit builders would have been happy bunnies a while ago. Cheers Ian |

Thanks again Ian.
I'm not very savvy with FSUIPC really, so I didn't know that about third party applications, but I had assumed that it did. Mark |

Title: Re: Voice control for CS757 Demo now available Post by FS++ on Dec 1st, 2011 at 9:54pm Hi, Just a quick update. Previously MCE worked only with base pack. Since the latest update, it works with all variants. In addition, package now comes with 2 pre-recorded first officer voice sets. Trial has been reset, and everyone can have ago. Ian. |
