I just purchased the Weapons for FSX today and have run into some difficulty. I am running FSX SP2 and the game seems to crash every so often -  a heck of allot more than before (like 6 times in just 3 hours), Also, I can fire and launch the weapons, when it hits the ground I see the effect but if I shoot an airplane the airplane just drops down to the ground/water and stays there.....no explosions or fire.....or even smoke. :-?

I may be able to help.  If you are running your system on Vista or Windows 7 you have to "run as administrator" to get the effects.

If your on XP I'm sorry, can't help, good luck.

Do you have Advanced animations in Options > Settings > Display> Graphics > Global options enabled?

Now, I can only seem to have weapons on a few aircraft......I install the panel on f-16, f-18, t-33, cessna 172.....bell206 but nothing. I opened the 2d main panel but the HUD is invisible and I cannot fire

Also, I can only align the target to shoot at the very top of the screen

I have had nothing but problems, currently I don't have any airplanes working, not even the stock leer jet. Some planes have hud, others do not, none have ammunition. I have downloaded the files several times, uninstalled, reinstalled and run the program as an administrator.  :-/ ::)

Search the Support Knowledge Base (I know it's not as easy as it sounds) for a possible solution. Try all that you find.
If  what you find doesn't help, submit a ticket and explain that you have tried the solution that you found, but that they did not work.
If you get an email and your ticket has been cancelled (they provide the KB solution(s) with it).  If you have/do try that/those ones too, and were unsuccessful, submit a new ticket explain they didn't work either.

When I manage to shoot down aircraft (on the ground and in the air) it just disappears into thin air. Is this a glitch or my PC?  :-/

I tried all of the options but noting seems to work. I am the administrator and I have the highest graphics on.

I have the exact same problem so I think it might be windows 7.

I don't think it is Windows 7 causing the problem because it's working fine for me and I happen to be using Windows 7. ;)

hmm... should I try reinstalling? I realize that I do hear the sound when they explode, just no explosion.

It couldn't hurt to try.
Is Advanced Animations enabled? It's found in Settings > Display > Graphics  in the Global options section.

hmm Im trying the reinstall now, but an error popped up that says error opening the file C/(...)/Microsoft Games/Microsoft flight simulator x/Gauges/CSweapon.dll

never mind it finally installed... but doesn't work still...

If you are using Vista or Windows 7, then you need to:

1) Run the Weapon for FSX installer (csw001_1000.exe) as an administrator (right click and select Run as administrator) to install it correctly.
2) You need to run the (Weapon) Loader as an administrator or it doesn't add it to the aircraft properly.
3) You then need to run FSX as an administrator so weapon works properly.

For numbers 1) & 2), Right click on the Loader (same for fsx.exe), select properties, select the Compatibility tab and place a tick in the box beside "Run this program as an administrator" (under Privilege Level). This is especially true if FSX is installed in C:\Program Files or C:\Program File (x86) because those operating systems are very protective of everything installed in there and doesn't like you making changes in there! This is a good thing, but it can be a real pain in the butt as well. Permanently running them as administrators, gives them the right to make the changes needed.

Those running Vista or Windows 7 with FSX installed in its default location (C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)) should take note of what you just said. ;)

It all depends on whether you have a sound issue or not. As far as I know, version 1.1 only fixes a problem with the sound, nothing else.

So if you provide more information on your problems, we can try and help you if we can.

Yes, i need that 1.1 version, sound and effect problem.

What you need to do is to check-in to Your Profile > Select Product > Customer Support > Search KB or Submit New Ticket. Create a Ticket, fill in all the information and say that you are having sound issues with Weapon for FSX. They should provide you with a way to get v1.1.
