Title: Re-installing Captain sim products Post by ottoramsaig on May 6th, 2011 at 12:56pm
I now believe that my FSX is a soup sandwhich. I am going to re-install this weekend. I want to back up my B 727 and C 130 files and install them once again in FSX. Once I have copied the folders how do I re-install them? Is there an installation program in the folders?

You go to Micrsoft Flight Simulator X/Captain_Sim/either 727 or C-130 and put in all your lvieries and install them using ACE

To back up my files in FSX, I put them in zip files. I structure the folders in the zip file like they are in FSX (see image for how I did it for the C130). To replace them after reinstall FSX and the C130 (or after just reinstalling the C130) I extract to FSX root folder, when asked to overwrite, I say yes. In those folders, I have backup original unmodified files and my modified files (usually the CFG's) and nothing more than that except maybe additional liveries so I DON'T have to redo adding the liveries after reinstalling everything! Hope this helps. Mark Note: In the Captain_Sim\130 folder is another folder name manuals (I extract the PDF manual(s) in there), nothing else is in there because I never modified any of the files in there. I backed up all my FSX folders when I needed to reinstall in zip folder in my desktop (Airplanes, Addon Scenery, ect.) so didn't need to reinstall all the files. And mine, like Markoz's, is set up like it's in FSX.
