Title: Recommendations for B-52
Post by fs_addict on Apr 18th, 2011 at 2:00pm
Should I of shouldn't I buy the B-52 Driver? I thinking about it and the screens look nice but I want to be sure. Usually, I try the demos, and as you can most likely see from my signature I'm rather fond of Captain Sim products. (in fact, they're the only publisher I've ever bought a payware aircraft from) But seeing as there is no demo I'll base my decision on this topic. I have yet to be disappointed by Captain Sim.

It is of the usual high standard that Captain Sim does on all their aircraft. I doubt you will be disappointed.

The buff looks mean and flys nice. The feeling of flying a huge plane and the dated systems makes this both fun and challenging.

The only thing I found that the IFF panel does not work and on IVAO/VATSIM this is a problem. Other then that she is a beauty.

Its great, highly recommend it but keep in mind it is Funline product, no Proline so there is no navigation. I would definatley recommend that you purchase this product i give it 4(1/2) stars (out of five).

Hi there,

I just bought the B52 from CS but had never used old gauges before, always used the digital panel as such in 747. So now i don't know how to set speed/altitude/heading/etc... can someone help please. I am so disappointed paying 36 dollars and not knowing how to work it.
Thanks,

Pages 45-47 of manual II should cover all the autopilot info.

Am I missing something? Isn't it why we buy these products! To take some time, research and practice to learn how to operate the systems and fly these models. IMO $36 is a small price to pay for the CS-B52 looking at the hours of entertainment it has given me and I don't mean just flying.

How boring would it be just to jump into the pilots seat and fly off into the wild blue yonder 5 minutes after the installation of a new purchase. :-?

The Buff is old technology.  That's why it is a challenge and why such fun to fly.  Yes there are more modern aircraft but the B-52 is 1950's technology.  It is expected as far as I am concerned.

Glass cockpits are ok but I prefer more real ones with seperate gauges.  Makes it more ralistic. ;D
