Any of you know what the call "14 green" was ???  :-?

After watching this you know what pig wrestling is all about.  ;D

Did you hear how noisy the cockpit gets as the nose gear goes down?

Could that be Vref + 14 approach speed?  Ah, the sound of trim wheels, landing gear noise and rushing air.....tailwinds....the good ol'days!!  I wish he would have posted the N number so we could look up the number on the "pig chart"

Oh, now Lou, if we only had some vids of you up in the office that would be fantastic!   ;)

And one more comment....notice the Pneumatic Brake handle on what I believe is a 727-231 adv....left outer edge of the Captain's panel...my buddy's 707 is the same.  Most of the time that brake is on the upper right side of the panel...very very TWA!

Yes indeed...very very TWA

TWA changed a lot of things in the cockpit from the way Boeing intended them. The placing of the emergency brake handle on the left side of the panel was one of the better changes. If you need to use the brake handle with your left hand, you can also use your right hand on the engine reverse levers. Much harder if the brake handle in on the right side of the panel.

The 14 green call by the flight engineer is in reference to the F/E AUX panel on P-6 circuit breaker panel, that shows the position of the leading edge devices. There are seven panels on each wing - 3 Krugers and 4 slats.

And you can hear how loud the trim wheel and nose gear were in the cockpit. It would have been a "Hat Trick" if the wipers were also being used as the noise was unbelievable.  :o  Oh, and how about the gear warning horn!

Now that does make alot of sense if you really thing about it...goes to show you how much TWA valued pilot's opinions.

Ah the Aux panel (see below) that was my second guess!   ;D

Geez, you guys needed combat pay up in front!!  Lots of noise for sure, but man I do love the '72.....wish I had the chance to have my hands on all the equipment you flew Lou!  Tell you what, you had to be a REAL pilot to fly those birds.  These newer pilots today, I would love to see them try to handle a 707 or 727 with no FMC....good luck!!!   :D

Great to see you on board with Captain Sim, makes me feel much better about the accuracy of these aircraft!
