Title: glideslope indicator not working
Post by BrianG on Mar 18th, 2011 at 5:26pm
Hi Everyone,
If I run a flight for more than about 30 minutes I can't get the glideslope to work. The localizer works fine. On a full ILS runway the flag goes away but the glideslope indicator stays at the bottom of the scale and won't move in relationship to the appraoch. For a shorter hops it seems to work OK. I just installed 1.3 and that was supposed to take care of it but it didn't. Any ideas out there?

How are you loading your CS707 in FSX? ie Are you choosing the default C172 before switching to the 707? Did you choose the 707 after flying a 3rd party in FSX? Did you start your initial flight with the 707 in FSX? All these make a difference on how your CS707 behaves.

thanks speck- I have tried running the c172 before I down loaded the cs 1.3. that didn't make any difference. I'm not using any other 3rd party aircraft. Have you had a similar problem? I can try the 172 again I guess.do you have to actually load it before the run the cs 707 or just choose it first, and then load the 707?

Hi Brian,

Yes I had that problem once in V1.2. I then loaded the default C172 before the CS707. Seemed to have fixed my issue. I always load the C172 1st anyways.

Hi BrianG, y have exactly the same problem, y do not know why but sometimes, (not always) if you turns the FD to the VOR position the glide wakes up and works but it is something that you might submit with a ticket like y have done too.

Hi Raul,
It's been a while since I pulled to 707 out of the hanger but I did find a solution to this problem. If I remember correctly, the G/S problem is initiated when I used the doppler  and put the A/P in the NAV position. Before you disengage the AP, simple switch it to the NAV/LOC position, then disengage the autopilot ( or auto-land in NAV/LOC -APP) Then your G/S will function properly. Let me know if this works. If not, I'll fly my 707 and I'm sure it will come back to me.
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian, thanks for your reply, y have followed step by step your fix but when y turns off the AP (after changing to VOR/LOC mode) the glide goes down again, y mean with AP on in HEADING or NAV (DNS)
mode the glide slope goes down without moving, if you goes to VOR/LOC mode the glide get working, so then y disconect the AP but the glide goes down again out of working. :-X

Raul,
When in Nav with the A/P on, an active glide slope will drop to the bottom. But only on the Nav mode. For me, as stated, I correct the problem by moving the selector to Nav/Loc, and the GS comes right back up again.  From there you can move the selector anywhere you want (other than back to Nav), or turn the A/P off, and the GS will function properly. I just tested it again and with the same results.  This is how it works for me anyway.
