This would depend a bit, Sanal.
One part of thinking about your RAM is the actual amount (too low, and FSX slows down a bit), the other one would be the speed (has some influence, but not that much). So what's your overall amount of RAM? Did you post the data of one module there (I assume) or are those 2048MB all there is so far? Maybe you can post some more of your system details since RAM plays a role in FSX performance, but not the biggest one. If you're not so happy with your current performance, maybe one can put some light on the weak spot of your system if he knows about it. We have to be aware that this isn't a 707 question though. :P |

No problem, leave it here, maybe CS moves it then. Nobody got hurt. :)
Some more details on your system then? |

I take it your three RAM modules are 2GB each, so you have 6GB total memory? If that is true, it should be enough. 10666 (10700 as you put it) is usually referred to as 1333 and not 667. It should be both fast enough, as well as enough RAM for FSX to perform well.

Mark,
Thank you. You just read my PC configuration file. 6GB/1333. Its performing well. I ordered my PC with 6GB. Later on, I was wondering if it should be 8GB or not. But you confirmed.IT is enough RAM for FSX. I solved the my INS DME update problem. I will post in" CooIP INS only" post post. Sanal |

I was running FSX with 4GB of DDR3 PC3-10700, the same modules as you and had no problems, occasional reloading of textures in a busy cockpit using high detail but only after being on an exterior camera.
I have however bought 2 more modules so I now have 8GB but I didn't have to, installed last week but not had time to try them out, my betting is I don't notice any problems and forget I have 8GB in now. Ps RAM is cheap. :) |
