Hi.
Will the updates for the 727 be available to those of us who have bought the boxed version of the 727? I asked another company about this, and they said they had no updates, but would distribute them to their customers if they got them from CS. My recently aquired 727 boxed edition is the 2.3 version.

Captain Sim released an update to version 2.4 back in February 2010, so I don't know why Just Flight don't have that one by now. They usually take a few months, but it's strange that they don't have it and so it isn't released. :-/

The problem with the updates for the boxed products from Just Flight, is why I prefer the download versions directly from the Captain Sim online store. ;)

I know, actually I did go for the download version when the 727 was first released, but I couldn't install it properly on my system. Anyways, I have a new system now and the download version might well have worked with this system, but I opted for the boxed version this time around. Hopefully another company will get the updates.

What I can't understand is why customers buying a boxed version are 2nd class people. You pay the same money (usually more) for the product. So why not the same service? A small delay would be no problem, but it's nearly a year now..

The problem is with the way Just Flight package the boxed Captain Sim products. Therefore they have to get the latest update and repackage that for their boxed products.

Of course I cant say how they get their hands on the latest update in the first place though.

Any news on this? I'm I stuck with 2.3 forever? I really love this plane, but I doubt I'll buy the download version as well to get the updates.

i don't want to sound very blunt, but i think the best way is to request more info from where you bought your product.. requesting any news from Captain Sim will not help, since you didn't bought the product from them directly, but via a distributor in this case Just Flight. They should provide you with the information when they release the update so you can get to the latest update where captain sim is now.

I know, and infact I tried that before even posting in here. Just Flight told me they've recieved no updates, but they would distribute if they got them. My question is if there ever will be such updates for the boxed version sent to Just Flight, who then in turn wil distribute this to those who've bought this product.

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, sorry if I do!

I'm pretty sure that quite a while ago CS stated clearly that there would be no updates for the boxed version--- period. I wouldn't bet the ranch on it, but I do think that is the case!

Maybe Just Flight feel that 2.3 is better than 2.4 and so they are waiting to see what update 2.5 will be like. I have no idea when that will be, so we'll just have to wait and see.
