Title: Broken ACE?
Post by asanal on Oct 23rd, 2010 at 12:52am
After two successful flight, flashing graphics started all over again. I tried to  switch back"Only Flight deck" option. ACE is not savings the changes. I also increased the Virtual memory to 9210 Mb, didnt make the difference.

I have no problem with 747, Md-11x and  CS-767,727. Only 707 :(

I initially had the same problem, as did a friend of mine. My issue was that I installed the update over the original and it didnt like that. I uninstalled everything, installed the latest version, and the problem stopped.

My friend tried that and it did not work for him, but he discovered that if he switched from windows to full screen and back, that fixed it. There is obviously still a problem somewhere, hopefully CS will find and fix it.

And you are correct, the ACE is not retaining settings, and this is new after the update.

As for flashing: http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1286071100

As for ACE, we'll check if it's broken.
For now you can switch the models manually:
Put interior=..\model\csx701_interior_light in both model.cfg files.

Captain Sim, I'm confused by your referencing the thread quoted above. Are you saying that the fix for the flashing problem is not to use the "flight deck only" option? If so, this is not a fix at all.

On the other hand, if you're saying that user provided options mentioned in the thread are the fix - such as those provided by Markoz - then please say so directly so we can be clear on just what you recommend to address this problem.

Thanks,
Robert

@Robert -The fix is to use ACE and select Flight Deck Only. Not what I do. Although I can stop the Graphics Flashing on my computer by reloading the aircraft, I can't say it will work on other peoples computer, each computer system is different.

@Sanal - ACE in version 1.2 is working correctly for me.

Mark,

When I select Flight Deck only. I can see my check marks appears. Then, I Click the "save" check mark disappears and "Cabin" still, with Flight Deck.
I wonder why happens like that.

Hi Sanal.

I just checked mine and the check mark remains, even after I have clicked save. And it is still there even after I have turned my computer off at the end of the day, restart the next day and open ACE.

The only thing I find that it should do, but doesn't, is remove [CameraDefinitions.005] to [CameraDefinitions.007] entries from the aircraft.cfg. If I am using "Flight Deck only", when I press 'A' to switch between interior views, I'm still going to the Galley and Pax Cabin positions (there's nothing there of course). LOL

Mark,
Thanks for your  advise. I made two flights today and there were no flashing graphics. I am totally lost .

I don't understand why I cannot correct the problem. May be CS will come with an idea. :-?
In mean time, if flashing  starts again, I will delete 007 and 5 from my aircraft cfg. file.

Hi Sanal.

Unfortunately. Deleting the Camera Definitions 005, 006 & 007 will not fix the "flashing graphics" problem. It will only prevent you from going to the nonexistent Passenger Cabin IF you are using the Flight Deck only option in ACE. ;)

We've just double-checked ACE, it works as required. Thank you for your inquiry. It has been processed and new KB# 6212 added to the Knowledge Base. Please check-in to Your Profile  and use Customer Support > Search KB > KB# 6212. Locking this topic.

As for flashing, please continue in this topic: http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1286071100
