I am looking for switch on the passenger light but I cannot find it ! Do you know where it is?  :-?

You can only turn them on using the keyboard shortcut. The default is SHIFT + L.

I've already tried it but it didn't work. The light ignites half a second before going out.  :(

It shouldn't go out after half a second. If I press SHIFT+L, I get extra light on in the cockpit as well as in the passenger cabin. Sometimes, if I forget that, I'm wondering what light switch I haven't turned off until it dawns on me.

Are you sure that you aren't holding the keys for a fraction too long so that the key press repeats in half a second?

I think the "Dome light white" and "control stand white" switches  also control the passengers' lights.

The White & Red Dome lights light up the cockpit and I use them a lot. The only way that I know of to turn on the Passenger Cabin lights is using SHIFT+L. Captain Sim provided the above answer when someone else asked.

Mark, you are correct.
The dome white and red lights are the 4 round lights on the cockpit ceiling. The control stand light illuminates the center pedestal where the thrust levers, flap lever and radios are located. There were no lighting controls for the cabin in the cockpit except the circuit breakers.

Following your comments,in my installation of FSX,pressing Shift+L does indeed switch on the passengers lights,however,
switching the "Light Override" switch to "Override" appears to do the same.
This may be the answer to the original question
I am new to the 707 and indeed to the forum,so I have no idea if this is a coincidence or what happens in real life.
I imagine that in the real thing,each passenger would have their own switches,but the crew have the override switch to maintain overall control?

In the 707 the main cabin lighting consisted of indirect lighting along the wall called COVE lights. There were also dome lights in the ceiling down the middle of the cabin. These dome lights were on dimmers so on night flights the cabin lights could be lowered for people to sleep yet enough light was available to keep an eye on the cabin. The dome lights had a dark blue glow position with stars that shown. It looked like you were looking up through the ceiling at the sky.

The passenger seat reading light was controlled by the passenger only. You could open the circuit breaker in the cockpit to turn off reading lights as well as all the other lights in case of electrical fire.

In later aircraft (747+) lighting control of all lights was moved to the cabin at the F/A stations. The F/As could turn on or off areas of lights including reading lights if desired. Cockpit override was still kept in the event of some problem.

Other effect: The background illumination of the cockpit panels is turned on (I mean all the small letters e.g. of the overhead panel), looks pretty nice.  For this, I also did not find a switch

The switch does, indeed, appear to work the same pressing SHIFT+L. The circular dome lights in the cabin change slightly, it's hard to tell if they are turning on or not, but just above the overhead storage bins some soft fluorescent lights do come on.

Also, there MUST be a switch to turn on the panel background illumination (the letters, numbers, symbols etc, not the instruments themselves). This also works with "Shift+L" or the light override switch.

It is not realistic to fly with all lights on in the cockpit at night.

That's really strange. When I press the SHIFT+L, I get some extra light in the cockpit (not too bright) and the lights in the cabin. I certainly don't get all the lights in the cockpit. And the only time it seems to get too bright in the cockpit (to me) is if I turn on the White Dome light or Red Dome light.
