Title: Have a few questions Post by EdwardS on Jul 5th, 2010 at 2:05pm
Hello everyone, forgive me if these have been asked. I did a search of the kb and even filled out two customer support requests which were rejected. I hope someone here can help.
First problem is in regards to the engines. If I start some engines on the C-130 then quite FSX and then return to FSX the same engines will still be running. The only way for me to stop the engines is if I shut down FSX and restart it. Does anyone know why this is happening? My next questions is in regards to the EICAS displays. In the 3D view they give me a readout of the engines. In the 2D view they display all zeros as if the engines were turned off. Does the 2D panel EICAS work? Third problem/question is in regards to the autopilot. If I turn the autopilot on from the 2D panel then pull up the autopilot popup it will show that the autopilot is turned off. Or as an alternative if I turn the autopilot on from the autopilot popup the 2D panel will show it as being off. I can try this in any combination of on and off and the 2D panel and the autopilot popup will never reflect the same state. Does anyone know what is happening with the autopilot? There are a few more issues but the last one I would like to bring up at this time is in regards to the yoke. If I turn the yoke off while in the 2D panel then open any other panel, such as the upper overhead for example, the yoke reappears and I must turn it off again. When I close the panel I've just opened the yoke appears again. This is a continuing battle to turn the yoke off. Is there a way to turn the yoke off and keep it off? Thank you for any assistance, Ed |

Capt Sim, my tech support requests are consistently rejected. Will you or another member of your staff assist me?

Your request are rejected with KB numbers to check, because the requests are already answered. Please search for the suggested KB entries.

No they are not. I searched the KB long before I ever tried to send in my first request for support.
You do not have a KB for the C130 autopilot switch being in the on position in the 2D panel yet showing off on the autopilot popup. If either of those issues is addressed anywhere in any of your KB posts it is not addressed for the C130. Captain Sim 2 wrote on Jul 7th, 2010 at 1:54pm:
Honestly let's look at the facts here. In a non-modified version of FS the engines always start up running. ACE does not allow you to set cold and dark. So, how is it that you have a KB report dealing with the first issue I described when in actuality that issue should not exist? |

Have you tried reinstalling the CS C-130 to see if it fixes the last two problems? Hope this helps. Mark |

Thank you very much Mark for the help. In the first instance it sounds like the problem I am having is related to the problem you encountered in your empty C172 tanks-restart test. The difference though is you unloaded the tanks then swapped to the C130 if I follow. For me it is a situation of a modified FLIGHTSIM.FLT (why MS put the file name in all caps escapes me) file so every time I load or reset a plane it comes up empty. The fuel tanks in the C130 are coming up empty in my case; however, the engines are running. If I load another plane the flight will start with the engines off and the fuel empty. If I load the C130 back it will start with the same engines running that I left running at the time I ended the flight and as mentioned the fuel tanks will be empty. My apology for that being such a long explanation. I hope I didn't just confuse you. Speaking of the modified file I use I found it on the net if you are interested. It is great for setting 'cold and dark' at startup. Just make sure you are on the ground. ;D
Interesting on the next point. In my VC and 2D cockpit the switch is in sync. However, in my 2D cockpit and autopilot popup panel they are not in sync. So you suspect this may be an installation gone bad. Indeed that is a possibility. I would attempt a reinstall . |
