I was just wondering, how long, and where would a real C-130 typically fly?

Just about anywhere in the world from anywhere in the world.  Refueling available?  USA to Iraq, Iraq to Germany to USA.  USA to England and back.

C-130 J's fly out of Keesler AFB near my house and make local flights of about 4 hours almost everyday.  Cruise speed is fairly high for a large prop trransport plane so you can cover some ground.

Go light on the cargo and then load up the fuel until you hit the max takeoff gross and have fun.  When the tanks get to 50% turn around and head home.  Hope for a tailwind.

Manok, I was reading a fact sheet about the WC-130J and this made me think about your query.

"The aircraft is capable of staying aloft almost 18 hours at an optimum cruise speed of more than 300 mph. An average weather reconnaissance mission lasts 11 hours and covers almost 3,500 miles. The crew collects and reports weather data as often as every minute. "
