Got another idea for ya!  Many of the old military heavy lifters were bare metal with black on the radar dome, or a lome green color back then and even the tri color camouflage paint schemes .  An example are the old C-123's (baby 130's) with the Air America decals on the rear quarter of the fuselage (port and starboard side respectively).
