Title: SPEED HOLD does not work after uninstalling...
Post by aircanada on Jan 30th, 2010 at 2:31am
Hi, I am really confused! I downloaded the DEMO and I liked it, but I uninstalled right away because I am thinking of getting it and I didn't want to forget to do it later. so I have been flying my other airplanes in the mean time, like normally, but now there is not control whatsoever on the SPEED HOLD. I can't set it, the airplanes goes over speed all the time now? is that something anyone noticed? Please help!!! :(

Read page 110 of Manual 2.

Speed hold doesn't work the same way as a modern speed hold setting.

HI Dave, I think I wasn't very clear in my last post. What I am really saying is that after deleting the C-130 DEMO file from my airplane folder in my computer, I have been experiencing odd behaviours with my other planes in general. For example, I flew a B737-900 from Pearson Int to Detroit and as soon as I climbed 1500 Feet, my plane kept going pass 250 knots and kept going and going, even thought i had set the speed hold for like 285.
I also noticed something else, the altimeter Flying tip shows up quite often, when before installing this demo, it rarely came on!
I am not a very knowledege person when it comes to controls and gauges in FSX but I really would like some help fixing this.... any ideas? :-/

update: I found a file called:TCAS2v7 and it was I listed the files by Date Modified, and I found this inside:
[Filtering]
Range=100
Altitude=100
Speed=30

[Smoothing]
Enabled=1
MaxCoast=20
Alpha=0.4

[Logging]
Enabled=0

which is weird because the speed of my current airplane is automatically set for 30, even though I am not moving at all! :-? :'(

aircanada,had same problem with my captain Sim,and all default aircraft,One day every thing great. just installed cs 767,then for some reason decided to uninstall either the cs757,or cs130,but after that the speed problem ,same as yours happens,,,ended up reinstalling FSX,That worked ,but always believed it was a  FSUIP4 problem

Ok Aircanada

Thanks for clearing that up.  I just thought you were having trouble with the one on the Herc.

Sorry for the confusion.

Oh wow! Reinstall? I don't want to do that! :( that would mean installing ALL again? Is there any other solutions? Maybe from the Captain Sim team?

More thoughts: what if I buy the plane(C130) and install it, would that fix the problem? .... plus, I just can't imagine this company having every customer complained after installing this DEMO and then having to reinstall the whole game just because of this glitch(?)!
Or just happened to you and me? Hmmm I tried to post a different message in the board but it got deleted.... I sent a ticket too, and I am still waiting. Your thoughts? :-/
