Title: Confused with some information from real 727
Post by javiercuellar on Jan 14th, 2010 at 1:18pm
Hi,

This has nothing to do with CS 727. It is regarding real 727 limitations.

In Michael's post (new flight model), inside the readme file, http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1262843857
there is a link to some real 727 docs.

The limitations doc, says:

Take-Off and Landing Altitude Limits - (AFM) 8,300 feet

This means, by logic, that a 727 can't land nor take-off from an airport at 13300 ft, like SLLP (La Paz, Bolivia).

I know for sure, that a 727 can do that!!! I travelled there in a 727!!!

So, the question is..... how can they do it??

In the actuality they keep flying to and from that airport.    :o

To do that, I think they'll have weight limitations.
I haven't read the doc, but might it be that the 8,300 ft altitude limit is at max takeoff and max landing weight?
