Title: 767 Outside Engine Sounds?
Post by dougal on Dec 24th, 2009 at 4:48pm
In outside view, with both engines and APU shut down, there's always the sound of a jet engine running!  It's no other aircraft - i've checked that.

Is this a fault at my end, or something wrong with the 767?

Thanks

Hi guys.

Here is what I did to stop those sounds.

In the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_767-300\sound.ge also in the /sound.pw and /sound.rr folders, I have renamed these 3 files as follows:-

767idle.wav    to  767idle.BAK.wav
x767cfm.wav  to  x767cfm.BAK.wav
x767idle.wav  to  x767idle.BAK.wav

Take note that if you have the "Hide extensions for known file types" ticked you wont see the .wav extensions. In that case just rename them like this:- 767idle to 767idle.BAK etc.

I have a nice quiet 767 when it is all shut down.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Nice one Mark - thanks.

Gotta wonder why/what they're for, those files.
