Sean -
You most certainly CAN use the FS9 textures for FSX! You will need to do a couple of things to make them work right: - First, download the free utility "DXTBMP". - Open each bitmap with DXTBMP and then resave as DXT1 .dds textures. DXT1 being important because it gets rid of the alpha channels, which is what you want to do. (You may have to 'flip' the image with DXTBMP before you save it, I forget. The results will be obvious if needed to and didn't!). - Note The FSX 727-200's do not appear to use the textures called "727_200_4_T" or "727_200_5_T" for the wings...instead they use "727_100_4_T" and "727_100_5_T". I think this is a change from FS9. - Make sure you have a proper 'texture.cfg' text file in your converted texture folder. You can grab it from one of the other aircraft included. Good luck! PS - Of course Nathan's FSX repaint will be awesome so we should do nothing to discourage him from doing one. PPS - Nathan, I bought that C-130 after all! |
