Title: C-130 ILS glide slope Post by gilby4294 on Nov 8th, 2009 at 1:26pm
Looked around but could not find anything..... During an ILS approach the glide slope bar does not work ??? I have the proper freq in, the bar when the flag pulls on the left of HSI does no good, nothing to guide me in on glide slope, course is fine lines me up with runway. Any help.... Is it me or a system problem ??

I encountered that problem in the tutorial flight that was pointed out for me in my thread Wanted: a tutorial flight here : http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1257412524.
Everything went well until landing when the C-130E didn't/couldn't catch the glide slope. The horizontal line was below the centre of the gauge but the runway lights were showing all red lights which tells me I'm below the glide slope. I've done several flights from YMML (Melbourne) to YPDN (Darwin) and to other places and I never had any trouble with the glide slope there which is strange. The tutorial flight is the only time that I have had that problem. Mark |

I never could get the horizontal bar to show the glide slope, but on the left edge of HSI there is a glide slope indicator, a small white dash, and it always worked while flying an ILS. I believe there was also one on the left edge of the artificial horizon gauge that idicated GS.
