It didn't really make front page news, even here in the states, but it is hugely important to me as my friends were on that plane and that is exactly the job I do. I think many of us here have aircrewed on C130's and the news may  merrit your knowing.

Just about 3000 hours flying on the C130 and I always looked at it as ironclad, failsafe as it gets and no other plane I'd rather travel in.....and it still is, but some things are just too much. I mean, I go out and do the same missions that all the good people on both these airframes were doing here and I always expect to come home, but I guess life is unpredicatable :(

my friend died in a Herc mid air collision on march 29 1985. It was a flyby and two of them collided over tha base (CFB Edmonton/Namao).
I do beleive it's the only mid air ever involving two Hercs.
I still remember all the bits and pieces of planes everywhere.
there were no survivors (10 dead).
again, you have my simpathy.
