Title: Wanted: a tutorial flight Post by Markoz on Nov 5th, 2009 at 9:15am
Hi.
I'm looking for a tutorial flight for the CS_C-130. I've done a search but only came up with a few results. None of the topic results was an actual tutorial, although there were references to one. That one was refered to as "orientation tutorial flight out of RAF Lyneham". Can anyone point me to where I find it? I'm hoping I can get a better understanding of flying the C-130 by flying the tutorial. Mark |

Try this: http://www.fsstation.com/tutorials/captain-sim-lockheed-c130.html. This ist a startup tutorial from cold & dark to shutdown including a 430nm flight from Little Rock Afb to Dyess Afb (KLRF LIT BYP FUZ ABI KDYS).
That was my "first time" too ... ;-) |

Title: Problem with tutorial flight Post by shamandgg on Dec 8th, 2009 at 8:51am
I am doing this tutorial throughfully, but I am stuck at the
"You can now go to the lower overhead panel (lower OH icon) and press the engine ground start button for the engine you want to start. Hold the button until you see a rise in the engine's parameters, then release it and wait for the engine to stabilize. You have just started the first engine!" No matter how long I hold start switch, nothing happens! Engine does not start. Please help. :'( |

I have found that all I needed to do at that point was left mouse click on the red button and hold it on for about one second and then release it. After about 5 - 10 seconds the engine fires up. I do this for all engines. Then continue with the tutorial.
I also found that you don't need to push the condition levers to the "Air Start" position to start the engines either. Hope this helps. Mark |

If the loadmaster doesn't shout "ROTATION", this means that you don't get any Bleed Air to your starter.
So, check your bleed air switch is OPEN (affected engine). Use a Checklist, it's clear-cut. Hope this helps. |
