Title: Autoland. How to
Post by Raven on Sep 30th, 2009 at 11:39pm
Hey guys. Can anyone tell me how to make autoland work? Actually evrerything's ok but one thing - the plane doesn't want to flare. What is the problem?

I edited the aircraft configuration file
In the line:

elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0

I changed it to

elevator_trim_effectiveness = 4.0

That fixed it and now it works super :)

Uh, Raven, you have this problem only.  :P But I have pitch oscillation everytime in AL mode, a/c can't correctly hold vertical speed  :(

I "solved" the problem. Just after crossing runway threshold without turning autoland off I manually pull the joystick, the plane raise it's nose and everything's OK. I guess it's not correct but it works. So if there are real 757 pilots or anybody who knows can you tell me how autoland works in real plane?

Haven't this problem with AP after above mentioned changes in aircraft.cfg, w/o manual action via yoke.
Excellent AP of CapSim now  ;)

Well guys I changed trim effectiveness to 4.0 and it really works pretty good :) The only thing that I was afraid of that I wouldn't be able to trim the plane manually precisely after that, but trimming works great too. Thanks :D
