I just completed a Moscow - Washington D.C. flight.  Everything performed admirably (and there was more than one REX weather update which caused no problems) with the exception of the sounds (yeah, I know, just sayin').  I did not have a Top of Descent, however.  I had a complete route, including a STAR and runway, so I'm wondering if I might have forgotton something in order to get a T/D.  I just descended using LVL CHG & V/S and landed manually (nice hand-flown approach feel, by the way, not that I would know, since I've never flown anything bigger than a 172, but when set up it coasted down nicely using throttles).

There are only two things that I can think of.  Did you enter your initial cruising altitude in the performance page on the fmc?  Did you have a route discontinuity?

Yeah, I know I didn't have any discos... I suppose it is not impossible I forgot to put in my cruise altitude since it would have been capped on the MCP anyway, but that would be an odd lapse.  Thanks, though.  Just wondering if there was something weird I had forgotton.  At my age you'd be surprised what you can forget.

I had the same problem between LEPA -> EDDP...

No T/D point and the FMC don't calculate the decente ! I think it's maybe a STAR problem?

All others flights was nice and I had a T/D...

Check that you have an approach selected to your desination airport (the TOD will not appear until this is selected, even though you have the destination selected in the Route page).

I am doing another one tonight KJFK - EHAM, very nice.  Using my new LROPS book, figuring my fuel, checking positions, being a good boy.  Have a set of NAT plotting charts on order from Jeppesen.  Fuel burn is 14,000 lbs/hr after five with the typical nice tailwind in this direction.  I'll make sure I have an approach dialed in and see.  Too bad KLM got rid of their 767s.
