Download Paint.net and DTXBmp. Check out Al Bradbury's painting tutorial on AVISM.

Of course, then be sure to find my screen shot of my attempt in the painting forum lol

It ain't as easy as it looks.  (Hint: I call it the "Parts Warehouse Camo Scheme")  If you are technologically confident, you may do better.

I would recommend waiting for the paintkit before trying to repaint.  You can succesfully repaint the Air France(easiest to paint over) but it is still a lengthy process. It took 3 days for me to repaint it into Delta, and it is far from perfect.

I didn't know that the proces to create the liveries is so time-consuming I spend today 10 h to repaint some aircraft  LOT (Polish airlines) and I didn't do much

It is truth to do good liveries (repaint) we need to spend I think few days
I will give up  :'(

You don't have to give up(it's good practice), just do it little by little and it will take time but eventually it will be done. I spend about six hours over 3 days repainting the Delta scheme. Once they release the paint-kit one can repaint a plane in less than an hour.

I agree with paint- kit template it will be much better and quicker but when the service pack will be realise ?

The skills you are developing will serve you will when the paint kit comes out.  It isn't a magic wand that will make things all that much easier.  Painting is a lot harder than it used to be, but if you are sufficiently motivated and have the time for it, it can be fun, and you can make a real contribution to the hobby.  I just don't have time to mess with it and review, and other stuff, but I wish I did.

The Delta looks good, Todd.  Is that AES stuff around it?

I think he meant it's "a joke" as in "hard to use", being in seperate tiles, rather than one big template where everything's lined up.

Come on don't you think in nothing else then blank template
I can also use Air France texture as the template
I was waiting for something more friendly for user like one big template or the best will be blank (white) 3d model whitch you can paint over

I just expecting something more then that .

There is a difference between the repaint kit and the air france template - namely the layers so you can get your lights/shadow/detailing etc correct. Something you would not be able to do with the air france tiles alone.

Anyway, I'm going to persevere and learn how to use the repaint kit, because I love doing repaints, and this 767 needs some good liveries  :)

So on the 17th of July you are still novice enough to have to ASK how to open DDS files :

And not even 2 weeks later, you're experienced enough to call the kit a joke?

Just because YOU don't know how to work that kit, doesn't mean it's a joke.

Stop complaining, and start painting. ;)

Title: CS767 FSX PAINTKIT
Post by juniorpm21 on Jul 29th, 2009 at 1:17am
well..i am 100% happy with the plane for now...
but this painkit is one more time absurd...
why CS dont make a real and nice PSD painkit with the entire fuselage..
is there another paintkit that you dont want share with us..or there is another paintkit for your friends...please

Title: Re: CS767 FSX PAINTKIT
Post by Tyrion on Jul 29th, 2009 at 2:17am
I suppose you're referring to the fact the fuselage is spread over several texture files?
It's that way with every CS repaint kit (or at least the ones I tried: C-130 X, Xload, 757)...
This just due to the fact the fuselage texture is spread over several texture files.
this has been brought up in the 757 forum too, the only workaround I know is to put them together yourself in a new (very large) PSD, and fragment them again when you're done painting.

It seems it's first time you see CS Repaint Kit. Just to confirm there is no mistake, joke, absurd etc: the 767 RK is a standard CS RK designed for experienced artists.
There is no special kit for friends, sorry.

i am 100% agree with Chris.. and i feel really bad after read the comment by Terrence..anyway this is my comment...

Terrence you know that your team and you have to recreate a new paintkit starting with this joke beacouse if we want to do a nice paint we can't use this as reference..i tried to merge all the parts in one .psd file and this paintkit has a lot of errors.( i can upload pics with the erros).some points dont merge and the colors are diferents, the line dont coincide in the same point.ect.. so is normal for persons who are starting in the paint world seen this as a joke..   this paintkit is the reason that CS has less painters...i spent more than 3 weeks painting the american 757..and your team can spent months in a paint... my point is why those professionals on CS dont create a paintkit (not a white paint) easy for all and less parts...if everyone can paint they own texture..cs can have more fanatics...not everyone have time to paint this paintkit and not everyone have a computer with a pen over the screen...so as captainsim said.. we got professionals... well... put those professionals to work ans release a nice paintkit. oh please fix this one..thanks

Until someone figures out a way to use acrylic paints and a 5-ought brush to paint airplanes, I'm leaving painting to the pros rather than fly something I would do that would suck.  Bad  ;D

We have seen many different kits, and truth be told ; fold-out kits -as we lovingly call them- aren't the easiest kits to work on. Of course a two sided, full fuselage kit is easier, but it also gives a lot more stretching.

It is something you -if you are serious about painting-  have to get comfortable with and proficient at.

I cursed, and screamed when it took me 3 hours to align a Flybe 3 piece fold out, with the Flybe titles running from the aft belly to the top of the vertical stabilizer (bear in mind the vert stab is cut in two parts as well, as the rudder is a separate part). So here I was aligning the belly, with the left side, the left side with the top, the top with the vertical stab and the vertical stab with the rudder... And when I was done, I had to do the same for the right side all over again, since the Flybe titles aren't the same on both sides...

Not everything is easy people, get used it.... :o

Secondly, let's not forget : calling something a joke, where people worked hard and long for, isn't the best way to get them to change it for you.

Last but not least : Yes, we have to make a total fused kit to be able to work with it, but we've never done otherwise. It's part of the 'game'..

Good luck to all painters. We've got ourselves a nice kit, a nice model, and as soon as we can spare some of the 8 or so people working on the 757 UHDT liveries, we'll shoot them over to the 767...

To Terrence:
Yes maybe I'm novice in painting the aircraft using Cs paint kit
but don't get me wrong when Cs release the 767 aircraft come with three liveries (not much ) without paint kit at a time
After they public paint kit I try to do some work for them and paint a few liveries before CS will finish work with a patch and maybe more liveries.
But unfortunately is not so easy and it's time-consuming
I spend over 20 h to do Martin air liveries and I'm not even on half way to finish
So if you mr.Terrence have more experience and time then me please share your work with us or maybe do some good tutorial how to paint the aircraft for novice like me
Best regards
Chris
I'm back to work
Software I using to paint :
Paint Shop Pro Photo XI,Paint Net

How could you forget Aeroflot?   ;D  That is the coolest livery of all and they actually still fly 767s. unlike Air France and KLM.  It opens up some really long transatlantic routes, too.  SU321 from Moscow to Los Angeles is just about the longest a 767 does, for those days when you have 13 hours + to kill.  And it has a hammer and sickle on it.

I can't wait for my McPhat 757 art, and we're going to hold Terrence to that promise on the 767s lol  I vote for Delta.

Hey Tim,
I thought you might like to see this if you haven't already.
Go to www.flightsim.com.  Under the search file section type in Captain Sim 767.  Two Delta Liveries will come up and one ThomsonFly livery.

Robert

Now, we just need Captain Sim to add the 767 to the repaints section under the support page so people can start uploading their 767 paints to the Captain Sim website.

Well, as you can see, you need to move part of the livery back towards the rear of the plane so that it lines up with the rest of the livery. You need to take into account the curvature of the aircraft when the livery is "wrapped" around it.

Trial and error is the only way.  Good luck!

These are the areas your misalignment is coming from, you have to treat these areas as though they don't exist.

:)

That happens with "DRAG ME TO HELL" paintkitts like these are.
You have to need mutch patience to find out how they fit.
But once you done some you get the trick out off it.

But those all around kits are always the hardest kits
but for shure the exact ons  ;)

sometimes they treading you like a pain in the A...... :-?

cheers
Mario  ;)
