Title: This is the real deal? Or just a 757 remake?
Post by cyberstudio on Jul 12th, 2009 at 11:41pm
Hi guys!!

I have a few questions about this plane:

This is the real deal?? Or is just a remake of the 757 with a 767 model??

What about the bugs??

What about the cockpit night lights? Is the same shame as the 757? (all on, or all off)?

first of all...  this is a b767..i cant see how a b757 can be similar to a b767...just only in the cockpit and some panels...

- this one has a nice, real and hq model..very friendly on the FPS and has a lot of details and animations
the front panels are the same.but this one has diferent overhead panel as a real b767 and diferent color, gauges, ect
a real nice virtual cockpit and a lot of animations....
see the pictures and make your own test
- a super stable..real and nice aerodinamics...you can fly the plane just using the trim...
you can perform a really nice landing thanks to this air file or aerodinamics..very real...thanks CS
very friendly with the FPS in model, panel.virtual cockpit and animations.

FOR ME : this one is the BEST 767 in the fs market now

the bad things

- the overhead panel still off while the engines are running..exept if you start the plane in cold and dark mode...

try this bird and you can change your life inside FSX... ;D

What about panel lights? Just all on or all off?? Like the 757??

The 767 developed according official Boeing 767 manuals. In terms of systems and cockpit layouts the 757 and the 767  in real life are so similar (just identical in some areas) that some airlines issue just one flight manual for both, called 757/767 flight manual. So our 767 is as similar to our 757 as the real life two aircraft are.

VC lights: unlike the 757 captains' and f/o dome light effects can be controlled separately. Also, our 767 flight deck is significally darker at night than our 757 one.
2D main panel: on, off, on+glareshield lights on.

Amazing. Thanks:

Are you planing to update the 757 lights to make it like this one?

Cockpit and panels are 98% the same with the 757

As with the real jets.  But the 767 fuel jettison is missing.

Various operators use various versions of the same aircraft so some characteristics may vary dramatically. In our product we have modelled one of the modifications. So please do not expect our model to be everything for everyone.

I do not expect everything for everyone, but commercial jets MUST have a fuel jettison so this would not be an example of a "modified" panel IMHO.  Regards.

On the other hand, if it is so, then does anyone have any supporting documentation or pictures?

Commercial jets "MUST" have a fuel jettison?!?!? Did you just make that up? because commercial jets DO NOT have to have a fuel jettison and many don't.  737, 757, some Airbus A300/310/330 etc do not have the ability to dump fuel.

The early model 200/300's  had fuel dump as an option and many were delivered with no fuel jettison system installed. The 400 was the only model that came from the factory with a fuel jettison system that wasn't an option.

Who cares if this thing dumps fuel?!?!

You missed the point entirely but, in doing so, also indicated where you stand on the issue of avionics fidelity.

Presumably, therefore, if the the default FSX 767 (if there was one) was just as pretty as the CS 767, you'd be happy with that simplistic jet as well.

In my opinion there are things that are infinetly more important than the fuel dump system. If you want something to complain about try flying the CS 727 Captain. The trim sensativety makes the plane unfyable. That's a gripe.

The fact that the real 767-200/300 had a fuel dump system that was optional and was not modeled by CS would not bother me in the least. What's the big deal? It's not like you have to get a maintenance inspection if you make an overweight landing.

It was an option. This plane doesn't have that option. Get over it.

Sooo... How is this plane not modeled after a 767 without the dump otion?

In all of my years flying the other 767, I have never, ever once used the fuel dump system.

The argument that there is either 100% fidelity or "default" panel is not getting better for all the repetition it is seeing lately.  Like most things, there is a continuum and Captain Sim products are considerably further along than default stuff.

Title: Fuel Jettison panel
Post by Brane on Nov 17th, 2009 at 6:03pm
I have just bought 767-300 and I am already disapointed because the plane is not complete: the jettison fuel is missing.
I do not understand that a product seemingly so close to the reality does not offer a fuel Jettison panel.
I am discovering the product. I hope to have no other unpleasant surprises...

Yes this is very sad CS release new product 767-200 ,The KC-767 Tanker,The E-767 AWACS, and non of this addons have jettison fuel switch I don't know why this was not sort it out in first update of 767-300 ,service pack and I also don't understand why jettison fuel is missing in 757 as well let's wait and see if this will be fix in next SP
Regards
Chris

I think you'll find this is a very good airplane for normal operations, but is not a checkride simulator like another one.

hi
i just purchased the 767 basepack.
ive installed it and when igot into the cokpit it looks exactly like the 757!

is it ok or i have a problem? :(

that's ok, it's that way too in real life.
watch closer at the overhead panel, and you'll notice some differences.
the 757 and 767 were developed at the same time by boeing,
and because of the uniform cockpits, pilots can switch between these two types much more easily than between other types of aircraft.
