10-15 on the ramp is close to not being bad at all. A smooth 15 on the ramp I could live with. My 18-20 on the ramp could be a reflection of a lot of different things. Have you tried loading the default Cessna first? What happens if you dial down all traffic to zero? Unlimited frames? You say add-ons shouldn't effect fps. Seems to me they might; I tend not to use global add-ons for that reason, though. I am good even at FlyTampa's Kai Tak, though. Maybe the Core 2 Quad is making a difference. Are you running Alacrity to free up resources when you start FS? I am also happy with nHancer handing over control of graphics to my video card, rather than letting FSX do it. Where are your sliders? Have you tried after a fresh boot? This is a visually complex aircraft, and it might take some experimentation to see what you want. Is it choppy, or are you just going by the numbers? Sounds like you probably know the usual stuff. I had to work a bit to get frame rates where I wanted them. There is no way you are going to get frames up there with a certain new T-tailed narrow-bodied twin engined airplane which makes signficiant compromises to get keep frames up. On the other hand, I do get good frames on my system, and I am not much of a tweaker. Also, what airport are we talking about? |
