Title: IRS, Post 4.3 Post by markparslow on May 22nd, 2009 at 6:17pm
Hi all
I have just install 4.3, and since this I am have trouble with the IRS, when using 4.2 and bellow I was used to getting in the cockpit and going straight to the top right hand O/H panel and turning all 3 switches to NAV and the turning on the Yaw Dampers and all would be good. but now when i turn the first switch (the left one) to align to get to NAv I get a 5 in the number boxes and then when all three are set to NAV all i get is T 026 in the left side of the number boxs and no more. Also it is flashing Align in all three L/C/R. Please help . Mark P |

what u need to do after the flashing lights in the IRS is to set the co-ordinates of your position. to do this pull up the FMC then click on POS for position after deleting the message 'set irs position' or something like that look at the co-ordinate already on the fmc, compare it to the one displayed by FS with 'shift-z' and if they match just copy and paste in the boxes (you may need to do this twice before it sets).

that is your current True heading being displayed, but u can change that to your liking to PPOS on the IRS display selector knob to "fill the box". this was done i believe because a lot of the fellow simmers wanted a bit of realism with the IRS as it set automatically within a minute before 4.3. with this we atleast have a little bit of control, but i could b wrong and this may only be a workaround. :)
