Title: FS2004 problem?
Post by jcrous on Apr 27th, 2009 at 5:09pm
I have recently formatted my computer and re-installed FS2004, but not FSX.
I have copied my modules-, Gauges- and Aircraft directories over from a backup.
I have re-installed all the reality XP gauges as well as the legendary C-130, C130J and Expansion pack. I have installed FSUIP as well. I have also updated to FS9.1.

Everything works and all aircraft works, but as soon as I load the legendary C-130, Flightsim 2004 shut down after about 8 seconds, without exceptions. If I press S to look at the exterior model I sometimes see a black 8 0 10 sided disk for a prop circle, sometimes it displays normal.

Any ideas? I need to get this running, but maybe I have forgotten something I have done before. It cannot be my system as it worked before the format. I only did not have the expansion set.

System:
2.1GHz Core Duo
2GB DDR2 RAM
512 MB RAM Display (GeForce 7600)
2 X 160GB SATA II HHD
Onboard sound
Win XP SP2

Johan

Hey Johan,

First of all, you're writing in the wrong forum section. This one is dedicated to the FSX version of the C-130. For the FS9 version,
go here: http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?catselect=130.

About your problem: try the steps explained in KB 182 in the customer support.
Have you looked in previous posts in the FS9 forum section? Maybe someone before you had a similar problem...
I don't have FS9, so I can't help you further, but I hope you get it working!!

Thank you Tyrion,
Sorry for posting in the wrong section.
I think I found the answer in:
CAPTAIN SIM COMMUNITY FORUM › Legendary C-130 (FS9) › C-130 - General Discussion › Legendary C-130 Extra Pack Support,
if I look at reply 8:
It appears to be the wrong texture format. I will try it at a later stage.
I will convert all the textures of one model to older FS2004 format and see what it does, after I have made a backup of course. To just copy the files over as this guy suggested in reply 8 did not work. But I think I will succeed at a later stage. I will eliminate one thing at a time and later everything except 1 until I find the answer.
Regards
Johan
