Title: What is wrong (or right) with my FMS?
Post by PiP on Jan 20th, 2009 at 7:03am
Hello all. I have just bought the CD version from another company. No problems with installation. But I am ready for my first flight and surprise surprise when I click on the CDU all I get is a blank CDU screen with few boxes, and will not work at all.
Have I done something wrong?
Please help anyone
Regards

Thank you CS for your much concern! I have fixed my own problems. Uninstall and reinstalled, this time on the Administor profile NOT the day to day profile.
Some crap with the Vista windows CDU fonts was being denied access.
Anyone haveing same problems this is the fix.
Now Im ready to fly and fingers crossed I will not get the FMC CTD being experienced by so many poor customers that fork out good money to buy these things and keep the developers happy, only to be told not enough complains to give it priority.

Regards

FSX and OS should have brought up several "Authentication" dialogs the first time you load the plane, and you should approve each when they appear.  Notice this though- these often pop up under FSX, and so you must look on the status bar for this, especially if you are full screen mode.

You scorn CS with sarcasm for their "concern" in this posting, but as per forum rules, this is not their tech support system, this is community forum, and while they will answer some posts here, they will not answer all.

I would check for the pop-ups mentioned before, or, if you're referring to FS9 version, you've posted in the wrong forum.  :-/

Hope it helps! 8-)
