Title: Free Demo FPS questions Post by WFH on Jul 23rd, 2008 at 2:36pm
Thanks for providing a demo mode - wish more would do that. However I have a problem - using FSX with quad core, 2GB memory and XP I am getting less than 5FPS whereas with payware 747 and 767 I get 30. Any clues as to how to increase? Was really looking forward to purchasing the Pro version and finally getting away from FS9 but must get much better frame rates.
Regards William |

Thank you for your interest!
As for FPS, the Demo is a cropped version of the original 757 4.1. As far as some complex systems (FMS etc) in the Demo are "broken" so they do not load/work properly and might cause some overloads on some systems. But I've just re-checked, even the "broken" Demo provides same or higher FPS than the competition 767/747. As for the FPS of the original 757 4.1 please read the forum, you'll see that some people do have fps issues but some do not. |

Hi, is there much difference between the FPS of the demo and the retail versions? The FPS are around 14FPS with the demo version, but I don't want to spend $94 only to find that I get 5FPS with the retail version.
My specs are: E8400, HD4870 512Mb, 4Gbs DDR2 800, DFI LP X48 LT, WD VelociRaptor 300Gb |

Title: Demo nightmare!!! Post by killerwhale on Aug 5th, 2008 at 1:53pm
OK, let me introduce my frustration. Iīve just bought what I consider to be a mid/high-end machine. Intel Quad Q9450 4Gb RAM, 2 Nvidia 9600GT SLI ...etc. So I tought that downloading CapSim 757 FSX Demo was just a formal step before buying it. But I couldnīt believe what my eyes were seeing. FlyTampa FSX and 757 Demo runnig, no traffic compiled yet and I got 7 fps. When paused I got more than 50 fps but after pressing "p", fps dropped till 8 at a maximum. Please tell me this is a demo issue!!!.
Tell me this isnīt hapenning in the good one. Thanks in advance |

Hi, Sorry to disappoint you but i'm having the same issues with retail version of 757. I bought it before the demo came out, and at the moment with the latest version, I still can't get more that 10 fps on clean FSX+Accel (SP2) install. To get 10fps I had to change all settings to Medium, even though all other add-ons (767-300ER, another company's Airbus Series v1 Deluxe, etc...) are working fine on HIGH settings with fsp between 20-60 fps (20 at busy airports). I would also like to pinpoint one thing, CS support keeps saying that many have issues, but also many doesn't have, so it's not their fault. That's quite wrong, because if only 20 people with high-end machines have these issues, then it's an exception that others don't have it. I still consider 757 as buggy product until we can run it on our machines with decent framerates. It's so easy to fix it. Give us options - like different models - vc only, vc + cabin, no vc no cabin, etc... I did some research on this model, and tried to get it running faster. I run simple test, by getting rid of all gauges so the panel was empty, also in VC mode, and you know what? no change! still 7-10 fps. So what's causing that? 3D model? It's not up to me to find the issue. A month ago, I found an issue in one of the another company 767's gauges, and I was ignored, so... I hope that CS will make this product more playable, it's still the best 757 around. Cheers |

Can you give a bit more information about your hardware spec? As you can see, it's similiar to mine (don't take Gfx into account - it has little to do with FSX) - info about mine is in my sig. Also, do you have Block F? I have everything for CS 757, but 757-300. What's TMCM ? I couldn't find such Airport ID, in any online database, nor in the FSX. Would it be possible that you post your fsx.cfg file, so I could check your config against mine? Thanks in advance. Cheers. PS> I think I've found a pattern in fps drops - it seems that the greatest drops are when plane is just starting to roll to takeoff. |

Hello everyone!
I have just bought the 4.1 version of the 757. I see not much of a framerate difference between the demo (which I had installed prior to buying) and the full version. I have the sliders all pretty much to ultra high (resolution full screen 1920x1200). Only traffic is on a medium setting. I parked and took off from a high detail (add-on) scenery (Princess Julliana Airport St. Maarten TNCM) and get between 21 and 35 FPS Hardware: Intel Q6600 Quad core Asus P5E WS Pro motherboard 2x 7200rpm hdd in Raid mode 0 Asus Geforce 8800GTX 512 Mb Creative Xi-Fi Elite Pro soundcard Windows XP SP3 with FSX+ Acelleration (clean install with only FSX running) Hope this helpes someone Regards Edwin |
