Title: Engines Stopping on Touch-Down, or when taxiing.
Post by G-SWSM on Jan 29th, 2007 at 11:05pm
Hi Gang. [smiley=embarassed.gif]

I just love this aircraft, and can't get enough of it.  [smiley=happy.gif]

I now have V1.1, and wondered if I'm doing something wrong.  [smiley=embarassed.gif]

if I use the prop condition levers during take-off, then all the engines stop, and I lose all power.

the same can be said if I leave them alone, but on taxi if you touch them even slightly, then they all stop again.

am I missing something at all.

Many Thanks.

PS Lovely Plane, and some Fantastic free re-paints available for it, what a package.  [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Hi,

I am using the Saitek X52, with it calibrated in FSUIPC Registered version.

I use this for all of my aircraft, and I use the large rotary on top for the prop pitch changes.

again, I use this for the PSS Dash 8, F1 ATR etc, with no issues.

I have the generators etc on, as per the manual, but I am confused at why they should all just stop dead like this, and then I lose All power for the A/C completely. it's wweird that I can alter the pitch in flight, but once on the ground it cuts the engines.

PS I also have the same problem as others regarding the GTC sound, it is there for the start up, and shut down, but no running sound.

Thanks.

Hi Steve

On a Herc, prop pitch is controlled via the throttles only. As you increase the throttles the torque increase along wiht fuel flow to keep the engines running at 100%.

Condition levers only put the engine and prop in the required condition for the selection. Ie:

Feather will feather the prop and cut fuel flow.

Move the condition lever to "air start". The prop unfeathers and fuel flow is started along with the igniters to start the engine. (Only works in flight)

All power management is through the throttles only.

Hope this helps

Dax
