Title: System Specs Post by capncrazy68 on May 15th, 2006 at 9:01pm
Hey guys.
I'm having some graphics issues on my current system, planning on building a new system, not sure if I can wait for FSX, which was the plan. CS C-130 is my main ship, if she don't fly, I don't fly. Any others would be high end 3rd party like another company, PSS, etc. The issue is panel artifacting with Nvidia cards. Switches flip back when you hover the cursor over them. Popups, will blackout the bottom half of the screen from where the popup is after you close it and you hover over something. You can temp fix it by switching to FULL screen and back. I've ran posts in AVSIM on the subject, and it seems to be a floating problem, with the 6 and 7 series cards, present on both AMD and Intel. I initialy thought that switching to a PCI express board would get rid of it, but I've seen posts of the same problem with those as well. I've tried an ATI card, but it shimmers too much. So I'd like to get a list of what you guys are running out there, I'll list what I got, and hear any opinions you may have. Should I get out of ASUS for the MB? I'm planing on keeping the processor and memmory if possible, and possibly changing the PSU. Current Building PCI express board ASUS A8V Deluxe 4.51drivers Athlon64 3500+2.2GHz Athlon64 3500+2.2GHz Kingston 2x512 DDR 3200 Kingston 2x512 DDR 3200 ATI Radeon X1600Pro BFG 7800 GTOC 1 no SLI for now WinXP SP2 updated FS9.1 JGE PSU 500wt BFG6800GTOC all tried PNY6600 To sum it up, I was thinking of the ASUS A8N-SLI but there were some posts of my problems with that board, so I thought maybe going to DFI Lanparty NF4 but I haven't heard anything about that one. ABIT was another one I thought I would research. Let's see what you guys are running eh? Thanks Jim |
