Title: CVIA INS integration
Post by Jared on May 11th, 2006 at 1:35am
Hello. Has anyone integrated the CVIa INS into this great gal? If so could someone send me the panel  confighuration file for it? Thanks.

Jared

Hello,

I have indeed intergraded Civa's INS (single - mode) into the Herc. It works like a charm (actually I find the tech very appropriate for the Hercules cockpit)

Mind you, this is kind of a complex piece of (simulated) harware - you will need to study at least some of the included documentation to be able to operate it properly.

Pls send me a private email and I can send you my config (if this is OK with CS, that is!).

regards,

Yes, it's ok. You may publish the config and integration instructions in this topic.

Hi there,

Is it possible to add 2 more CIVA INS units (like in B742 RFP) in the C130 ?
If yes, what are the modifications to add in the panel.cfg file ?
thanks

Hi,

It should be pretty straightforward. Nevertheless, I see no real advantage in doing so. Also, I am afraid there is limited space in the Herc to fit three CDUs, control panels etc.

If you really want to do it pls email me privately and I'll try to help you.

Hi,

I was able to add the Triple INS, in separate windows, and all seems to work properly !

On the C-130 Aircraft folder there are actually 4 folders called Panel:
Panel, Panel.g , Panel.v , and Panel.vg.
Each of them have a Panel Config file.
Wich is the one to modify?  :-[

Hello,

change the config found in Panel (not the ones in Panel.g , Panel.v , and Panel.vg). Keep in mind though that if you make changes to the panel you use with ACE (say you change from 2D only to 2D+VC) you will lose the changes you made for the INS (so, back your work up!)

Also, the changes I've posted in my previous message include the RealityXP weather radar as well. If you do not have that you should remove the relevant lines

I have integrated the CIVA INS as per the above instructions.  I have located the INS NAV switch on the Captain's main panel.  I have located the MSU and Update lights on the Navigator's station.  But I can't find where the CDU is located nor do I see any new simicons anywhere.   :(

Where are the simicons found and how do you get to the CDU?  Please help.  Thanks!

Mike

Hi,

check your email pls.

You should have two new simicons in the swithcing panel (Window01 - gauge09 and gauge10). Are you certain that you have included the entire window modification (for window01)? The window dimensions are also changed (the window is enlarged compared to the original)...

regards,

Thanks for the reply!  That may be it.  I will have to check that as well as my e-mail when I get home from work later today.
