Cross check these liveries....
Jul 16th, 2012, 3:25pm

CS:

While the major work on the 777 product still underway and we are all concentrating on the panel and aircraft performance.
Can someone cross check the available liveries and correct them if able.
Like the Korean Air logo tail fin on the right side is wrong, the United for the new CO color has the wrong font, not all B772 has a fuselage warning "cut here in case of emergency" which on this product shows on all your planes, etc...

thanks,
Kin M.

First of all, I'd like to express a big thank-you to all the artists who provide us with textures for the CS-add-ons.
However, I'd like to support matsuman's message. For the following reasons:
- CS produces high-quality products. Why shouldn't the textures offered not be of a high quality? IMHO a high quality would mean that the livery truly reflects the real livery used on a particular plane including the details. There shouldn't be any blurry parts when looking at the plane from the front or a sharp angle. The scriptures should be correct as well as the colors etc. Some may say that this is just eye-candy. However, why should a high-quality plane with a high quality exterior be dressed in rags?
- Other developers (eg PHDG) offer a great number of high-quality textures. I've downloaded many of them and they all look really good and credible to my eye. They are sharp, shimmering and there are no blurries.

Maybe CS shouldn't leave it up to the free-lance artists to create the bulk of textures. This has worked really well with the 737 which has received many excellent paints. However, I'm not so happy with the 727 and the 767, which in my opinion are really good add-ons (and I'm looking forward to the updated versions  Smiley)

I therefore would like to encourage CS to think over their livery strategy. Why not introduce a "From CS approved" texture label in the library to highlight the really great contributions. And of course, please CS, offer more professional textures. Why not selling them in an expansion pack?

The 777 is going to be great and a great product needs great textures!

If you're interested, take a look at my posts on the "CAPTAIN SIM COMMUNITY FORUM › 777 Captain › Step II release (0.x) › EXTERIOR MODEL & TEXTURES" forum. I have been meticulously logging issues with the default Captain Sim liveries. They tell me the developers are checking these posts and making corrections.

Excellently put! I especially like the "CS Approved" idea. However, I don't think that textures should be sold in an expansion pack (because I don't want to pay extra  Wink). But really, I think it would be better to have CS have repainters fill out a waiver to allow CS to include the liveries (for free) in the next service pack.
